Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana is a new scheme to provide entrepreneurship education and training programs for youngsters for five years. This scheme launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 09 November 2016.
The Ministry of the Skill development and Entrepreneurship department said that the initiative would bring together international and national learning practices together in order to impart entrepreneurship education to the youngsters of the country so that promising entrepreneurs can be produced after the training. He also said that the institution involved in this scheme has been successful so far and he is hoping that in the coming years, these institutes will produce some of the best entrepreneurs of the country in the coming five years.
Objective of the Scheme
The main objective of the Ministry and this scheme remains to train youngsters and encourage them to become entrepreneurs. By doing so, the startup businesses in the country would face rapid growth and it would be perfect solution to deal the problem of unemployment.
It is important that the youth of the country is made strong and prepared in a way that they can get involved in dynamic activities. For this to happen it is essential that government id India proves the youth of the country with full supports and creates and better environment for young administrator.
Important Points of Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana
1. The scheme duration over five years (2016-17 to 2020-21) with a project implementation cost of Rs. 499.94 crore.
2. It will be provided entrepreneurship education and training to over 7 Lakh youngsters in 5 years through 3050 Institutes across India.
3. Under Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana, Institutes will involve: 2200 Institutes such as universities, colleges, and leading institutes. Also includes 500 ITIs, 50 Entrepreneurship Development Centers and 300 schools.
4. The training programs will be carried out by the institutes through open online courses and other online programmes.
